In the Afternoon, the Islamic Architecture Symposium continued with the First Panel Session titled 'Building Identity and Community, Architecture of Belonging'.

Among those present was Doctor Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, Deputy Minister of Development. The panel members were Doctor Haji Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, President of Brunei Historical Society; Dayang Ruzanna Musfirah binti Haji Saji, Acting Senior Architect, Public Works Department and Awang Haji Mohd Farihin bin Haji Mohd Jaafar, Architect, Authority on Building Control and Construction Industry. The session among other things shared the views and experiences of the presenters in highlighting the concept of Islamic architectural design focusing on identity development and its relationship with cultural, social and community values, and a conducive environment.
